Short biography:

Hanin Ahmed is a CNRS postdoctoral researcher at CAGT who is passionate about genomes and population genomics. She is experienced in analyzing large data sets including next and third generation sequencing data. In 2022, Hanin obtained her PhD in Bioscience from KAUST university, Saudi Arabia, where she discovered her fascination with analyzing DNA sequence data.

By training, she is a molecular biologist. During her PhD research, she focused on using genomic tools and sequencing technologies to establish genomics resources, including reference genome assemblies and whole-genome sequencing of diversity panels to understand the crop’s genetic diversity, evolutionary history, domestication and introgressions.

Currently, Hanin is transferring her skills to analyze whole genome sequences of horses to study their population genomics and evolutionary history.

Apart from her scientific pursuits, Hanin finds great joy in weightlifting, skiing, hiking, and traveling.
